Trip to Querétaro - Stopping in La Peña de Bernal

Before celebrating Easter, I decided to go on Holly Thursday towards Querétaro and spend Easter time there. We stopped in the town of Bernal, where the most important highlight is the very high and enormous monolith, which is also compared internationally to the monolith of Uluru, Australia.

Aside of the monolith, the town is quite picturesque. Very authentic. Modernity has not corrupted much the town. It is a beautiful site for photography and nice art craft.

The word "Bernal" in arabic means a big monolith found in a valley or surrounded by water.

I ordered there my first ice cube (paleta helada) of a very mexican fruit that is not found in Australia, "Mamey", since I left Mexico in 1996. This ice cube was made of authentic fruit pulp.

Enjoy the colour of the sky, landscape and the town.

Trying to take the way to Toluca Motorway that day, but there was no access due to a hail storm who did lot of damages in that area.

Arriving in Bernal. See the huge monolith behind the town

The tram of the town
This was parking lot where we parked the car of my sister. Nice shade.

You will see as well how people have fun with bubbles and the ice cube I had and my relatives had.

The pinkish colour ice cube is made of Mamey, the yellow one is made of Mango

Other curious things in this town

Blue Corn Tortillas. Very sweet.

Interesting to find doors hidden on plaster
